Kanta’s Journey: From the Foothills of the Himalayas to sharing God’s word
From her small home in the shadow of the majestic Himalayan mountains, Kanta often marveled at the beauty around her. Yet, life in her remote northern Indian village was anything but easy. Unable to attend school as a child, she grew up unable to read or write, a limitation that closed many doors.
Like others in her village, Kanta spent her life worshiping and trying to appease numerous gods who remained distant and unresponsive. But one day, everything changed. She heard the Gospel for the first time, and its truth pierced her heart. Kanta eagerly embraced Jesus Christ as her Savior, finding in Him the one true God who could see, hear, and transform her life.
Attending church weekly became the highlight of Kanta’s life. Watching others read their Bibles stirred in her a deep longing to study and understand God’s Word for herself. She dreamed of memorizing Scripture and sharing the Good News of Jesus with her neighbors. Yet, without the ability to read, she struggled to see how this dream could ever become reality.
That’s when a remarkable gift arrived. A volunteer from Frontlines International handed Kanta an audio Bible, a device that would change her life forever. Pressing play for the first time, Kanta felt a wave of joy and gratitude.
“I truly praise God for this personal audio Bible,” she said with tears of joy. “It’s proof of God’s understanding of our deepest desires. Now, I can learn the Word of God by listening to it.”
Kanta didn’t keep this blessing to herself. Inspired by what she learned, she started a small prayer group in her village. Through the words of Scripture, she encourages and uplifts her neighbors, sharing the life changing message of God’s love.
“I’m overflowing with gratitude for this incredible provision in my life,” she shared. “I thank God for those who brought me this precious gift!”
Kanta’s journey is a powerful reminder of how God meets us in our unique circumstances. Through the work of Frontlines International, she discovered a way to know Him deeply and to bring His message of hope to others. Her life is a testament to how God uses willing hearts and faithful organizations to spread His Word in even the most remote corners of the world.
