In several communities in Myanmar facing conflict and uncertainty, children recently gathered to celebrate Christmas together. These programs created safe places for rest, care, and joy, made possible through Frontlines International partners working in the area.
Children came together in Shwe Pyi Tha, Hlegu, and Kayin State. In Hlegu, many of them are living as refugees after being forced from their homes by ongoing civil conflict. Some no longer have a father or mother. Many live with fear and uncertainty every day.
At each location, the children shared warm meals, sang songs, learned from Scripture, and enjoyed simple Christmas gifts. They played, laughed, and had moments when the weight they carry seemed a little lighter. For many, it was the safest and happiest day they have had in a long time.

The heart of each gathering was the message of God’s love in Jesus Christ. Children heard that God knows them, cares for them, and is with them in every circumstance. That message brought comfort and encouragement, helping build confidence and faith in a place where hope can feel fragile.
Local leaders believe this kind of spiritual and emotional support can shape the future. As these children grow, the truth placed in their hearts today may form leaders who show compassion, courage, and peace in their communities.
These gatherings are more than a seasonal event. They offer safety, belonging, and hope in the middle of ongoing hardship. Gratitude is shared for everyone who helped make this possible, and for the prayers that continue to support this work.
