Board Members

Brian Scherer - Board Chairman

Brian is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with over thirty years of experience in the Equipment Leasing and Financial Services Industry. Past employers have included GE Capital, GATX Capital and SunTrust Bank. He was the Managing Director for Deutsche Leasing USA and also formed and was Managing Director of Deutsche Leasing Canada. He is currently Vice President, Equipment Management at M&T Bank. Brian is a worship leader, both in the local church setting and in his pattern of living. His desire is to see Christ exalted.

Leonard Robinson - Board Vice-Chairman

Len served in the SA Airforce and later studied at the University of South Africa (UNISA). Len worked in Public Relations and Communications at the University of the North (Limpopo), UNIQWA, and the Medical University of Southern Africa. He was a stringer photojournalist for the Business Times section of the Sunday Times. Len served as executive director of Mission Without Borders (SA, USA and Canada), an international Christian ministry. He joined Open Doors USA as Vice President of Strategic Relationships, initiating major partner and planned giving strategies and went on to serve as a strategic planner and development consultant to non-profits and universities in North America and abroad.

Clayton Slagle - Board Member

Clayton is a graduate of Baylor University and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served for ten years with the International Mission Board. He is a CPA who currently serves as Director of Value Engineering for an international supply chain management software firm. He is the Director of Missions for his local church where he leads with his passion to help others bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus Christ and spreading His fame worldwide.

Ken White - Board Member

Ken is a graduate of the University of South Florida and served as GTE/Verizon Logistics manager for the state of Florida, Senior Leadership special projects throughout the US for 20 years. He has spent the last thirteen years working for non-profits in Florida and California. He currently serves with Catholic Charities Feeding America program. Ken is active in his local church and is a personal evangelist wherever he goes.

Ivy Wilbourne - Board Member

Ivy is a graduate of the University of South Florida and has spent the last 24 years in various roles at Happy Hill Farms, a day-school and boarding school begun to help disadvantaged children reach their full potential located in Granbury, Texas. She has filled positions from House Parent to Crisis-Management Specialist to Developmental Associate responsible for fund raising and maintenance of donor relationships. Ivy believes that Christ is the key for the fulfilled life that everyone seeks. That knowledge has informed all the care she has provided and the guidance she has given to students.

Officers

Charles White - President & CEO

Charles was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Lutz (in the Tampa Bay area) for over 30 years. After traveling and meeting fellow Christians who live in places of persecution his ministry focus was changed as he sensed God’s leadership to stand with, learn from, and tell the stories of these believers.

Junine Schoen - Treasurer

Junine is a seasoned executive with 38 years of experience providing financial and operational expertise to both for-profits and not-for-profits. She has served as Accounting Manager, Controller and Chief Financial Officer/VP of Finance. Junine began her finance career with Exxon Corporation in New Jersey and later joined National Medical Care, Inc., as a Financial Analyst/Internal Auditor and promoted to Controller of the Southeast Region.

Junine has a deep love for those persecuted for their faith in Jesus. She served 10 years with Wycliffe Associates ultimately serving as Controller, Thirteen years as CFO/Treasurer with Open Doors USA, and over three years with Azusa Pacific University as Assistant VP of Finance.

Cindy Meid - Secretary

Cindy graduated from St. Leo University in the Tampa Bay Area where she studied Business Administration before working for Price Waterhouse (PwC) for fifteen years. She lives in Lutz, Florida where she is active in her local church. Cindy loves Jesus and the work of ministering to His church worldwide.
